Loudmark for iPhone · Effective 24 October 2026

In short: Loudmark doesn't collect any data. It has no accounts, servers, ads, analytics or tracking. Audio is never recorded. Your readings stay on your iPhone, or in your own private iCloud storage if you turn on sync, and Pilea Studio can't see them.

Microphone

When you take a reading, Loudmark listens for about eleven seconds and turns the sound into level numbers (decibels) as it goes. The audio itself is never recorded, saved, played back or sent anywhere. Only the resulting numbers are kept.

What is stored, and where

Each reading saves its label, date and time, sound level statistics and graph, and the name of the microphone used. This is stored on your iPhone.

If you turn on Save location and speed in Settings (off by default), each reading also saves where it was taken and your average GPS speed. Location is only used while a reading is in progress.

Loudmark also keeps a short diagnostics log on your iPhone (for example, whether the microphone started). It contains no audio or coordinates, and it only leaves your iPhone if you choose to share it.

iCloud sync

If you turn on Sync with iCloud (off by default), your readings, including any saved locations, sync between your devices through your private iCloud database, under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. Pilea Studio has no access to it. Turning sync off keeps your readings on your iPhone; you can remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Sharing

Nothing is shared unless you use the Share button. Shared readings are plain text and leave out location coordinates.

Siri

When you use Siri, Apple processes your request under its own privacy policy. Loudmark receives only the label you give and returns the result for Siri to speak.

Third parties

Loudmark contains no third-party code, advertising or analytics, and no data is sold or shared with anyone.

Children

Loudmark doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Swipe left on a reading to delete it, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your iPhone. If iCloud sync was on, remove the iCloud copy as described above.
